Now days, with out ICT use nobody can run their organisation. Actually I am working in IT department and with out ICT it almost impossible to work there. I am working in IT help desk and we are solving customer problem through phone, computer and other computer equipment. We are using Help desk software such as Proxy Master to connect users Pc to My pc, and Acd (active directory). If sometime we are unable to solve customer problem through phone, we have to go to the customers place to solve their problem because not every body has technical knowledge.

As per the MBTI, I am slightly extrovert person, intuitive, feeling personality and judging personality. Extrovert is a person who is energised  by being around other people.   I am kind of person who is completing one project to another with the assurance that the next one will be perfect, or much more nearly so than the last. As per the MBIT result I am continually looking for newer and better solutions to help their extensive family, staff, or organization. It’s true for me because I am always trying to keep myself busy and try to work hard in Wesley Mission so I can give more productivity work. Introverted Thinking is least apparent and most unknowable in this type. In fact, it often appears only when summoned by Feeling.

Everyone has different style to work in organisation. This can be beneficial when working together as it brings different approaches, ideas and creativity to the relationships. Sometimes it’s hard to work for me with the others whom have different working style because I have to work according to them and they are sometimes right.

 When we are picking up the phone, I am always forgotten to ask clients last name. There are so many users has same first name and my manger ask me every time what is the person name and when I am telling him Mark then he said Mark who. Now I am use to take name and last name.  Whenever I am unable to solve the problem of customer I was afraid to ask my supervisor. I was thinking that I am disturbing him but now I am asking him straight away when ever I got problem.

 When we are answering the phone we have to use word that might be easy to understand by user. Such as instead of using Network cable we are using blue cable so they can understand easily. We can’t use the Technical word because some of the user doesn’t know the meaning.

I am new in this company .Before it was quite hard for me to communicate with my manager through email because he is sitting just five foot away from me, now I am used to do it.  Even if he wants us to do some task, he preferred to use email and if he see that we are not working on his task then he telling us to check our mail. In this company, everyone has their mail address and it starting with his first name then dot and after last name and ending @Wesley mission.org.au so it is easy to remember.  It is compulsory for IT service desk staff to open outlook express to check clients email regarding their PC‘s problem. Some times clients preferred to communicate through email.

Today’s world, Interpersonal communication is everything in any organisation. By acquiring these skills, customer will encourage to buy service from company. In Wesley mission, everybody is communicating with each other very politely and respectfully.  By having positive interpersonal skills, organisation can increase the productivity in the organisation and it also help to reduce conflicts between employees. My manager (steave) is generally managing the feelings that emerge in difficult situations and respond his staff appropriately, instead of being plagued by emotion. He is ensuring every staff is working in healthy work environment.

I am working in Wesley mission organisation as network assistance and help desk supporter. At the moment I am working in IT service desk because at the initial level you have to work in help desk support to get knowledge of networking and company’s policy and procedure.  I haven’t assigned for large project but my manager is assigning me for small task. Such as to fix problem of any client by giving his phone detail and I have to call him or her and try to solve clients problem according. At the moment, I am working in help desk support and I learned to handle customer problem. Sometimes I have to ask my co-worker to solve clients problem which I have trouble to solve. With the help of my co-worker and my manager I am learning new things which I am unable to do by myself.

Time management in the workplace is an important skill that we have to possess. It can determine the not online our career success but our work life balance. I am trying to complete the job on time which is assigned by my manager. Time management is a key determinant of career success.

I am trying to complete urgent things first. Whenever my manager assigning me to complete the task , I have to ask my manager which one you want me to do first or sometime he is telling me that try to finish this before the end of the day. My manager gave me a list of client and tell me that call him and take their permission to update internet explore 8 into their computer. Furthermore he told me which one is in priority list so they can use their computer for some project which can be run in internet explored.  I called them and update their computer with IE 8.

Each Wesley Mission Employee, Volunteer, Contractor and Visitor shall:

• take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others in the workplace;
• work in accordance with established safe systems of work, including undertaking training as necessary to ensure their health and safety;
• promptly report all hazards, incidents and injuries; and contribute to consultative arrangements for health and safety.

Wesley Mission has developed an occupational health and safety programme to help implement the objectives of this policy.  All employees, volunteers, contractors, visitors and others are required to comply with this policy, with Wesley Missions’ occupational health and safety program, and with relevant occupational health and safety legislation, codes of practice and standards.

Team work task and meetings:-

I have not assigned for any project at the moment. Currently i am working on individual task. I am upgrading the operating system by imaging the computer hard drive from server. I was not used to do that before because i know how to do this from the operating system Computer Disk but not from the server. We just had a meeting when we started our task first time. In that meeting they told me why they are upgrading system and what kind of benefits of doing this. Me and my friend Frank doing this task. So at the moment we both are responsible for imaging the computer task. Frank and me both sharing our knowledge to do that task. if we have any problem we are asking this to experience person.

I am working in IT department of Wesley Mission. I started my internship in Wesley Mission on 23 November. The office is at 220 Pitt Street, town hall. There are approximately 30 people working in IT department. First day, I met John Root at 9:00 am. Then he introduced us to other IT department staff. He gave us detail about how many staff working in IT department and what are their duty and who is the in charge of the department. John told us about company policy and how it works. After that John told me to meet Mark Jackson who is working in network department and he has been in this company for more than 10 years. So he has very good knowledge of Networking. He organise one computer and desk for me and gave me some print out to read. The information he gave me was really good and it was about how network system work and how to do imaging the computer. It was really good experience for us because i never been to this kind of work environment. The entire staff members are very helpful and they are helping us if we don’t know any thing. There is one more thing I noticed here is that the work environment is really nice because Manager is not giving too much work load to their staff and every one helping each other and sharing their ideas.

About my adjustment issue, this is my first experience in professional job and i am not quit aware about the professional behaviour in the job. So that was the big deal for me but I know that I will adopt it soon.
